Univision Communications Inc. reached an agreement with YouTube to incorporate the Univision, UniMás and Galavisión channels to the YouTube TV vMVPD. In this way, Mexican subscribers residing in cities in the United States will be able to access local news and shows.
“Since the popularity of streaming services and the growing influence of our Hispanic community, this is an important step in ensuring our audience has access to our leading Spanish-language news, sports and entertainment wherever they consume content”, Hamed Nasseri, VP of Content Distribution for Univision, explained. “We are excited about the launch and recognize YouTube TV’s ongoing commitment to serving our growing and influential Hispanic audience”, he added.
In addition, Lori Conkling, YouTube global director of TV and film associations, said: “We are excited to introduce three new Univision networks to our YouTube TV membership, expanding our line of diverse content for our members“.
