YouTube billed more than USD 15 million in advertising and 20 million YouTube Premium subscribers in 2019

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, published its Q4 2019 financial results report, where it reported that YouTube billed USD 15.1 billion during 2019, for advertising revenues. The figure is the highest in the last three years, since, according to Alphabet, in 2017 YouTube recorded advertising revenues valued at USD 8.150 million, and USD 11.150 million in 2018.

In addition, Alphabet announced that YouTube TV records two million subscribers, and YouTube Premium, a platform without advertising and with exclusive content, already brings together 20 million paid subscribers, including YouTube Music. Apart from that, the YouTube subscribers unit generate USD 3 billion revenues a year.

Ruth Porat, Chief Financial Officer of Alphabet and Google, said that a majority of YouTube’s ad supported revenues are paid out to creators, ‘reflected in our content acquisition costs’. The report also detailed that Alphabet recorded revenues valued at USD 162 billion at the end of last year.
