WarnerMedia launches TNT Sports in Mexico

WarnerMedia (AT&T) has announced this Friday, June 10th, the launch of its sports channel TNT Sports in Mexico. With the announcement, the channel became available in four Latin American markets, as Mexico joins Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

However, and according to the information reported on several specialized websites, in Mexico TNT Sports will not feature linear pay TV channels to broadcast different events, but will be offered through the SVOD OTT HBO Max, whose launch in Latin America will take place. on June 29th, and through the pay TV channels TNT and Cinemax, which in Brazil is offered under the brand name ‘Space’). This way, the strategy used for the offer of TNT Sports in Mexico is similar to that of Brazil, where TNT Sport’s contents are offered through the screens of TNT Brasil and Space Brasil.

In relation to TNT Sports content offering in Mexico, the main bet will focus on the Champions League. According to the information reported, the 138 matches of the competition will be available on HBO Max, although 71 of those matches will also be broadcast on pay TV, through TNT and Cinemax. Another of the events that TNT Sports will offer in Mexico will be the Supercopa de Europa, which this year will be played between the clubs Chelsea (England) and Villarreal (Spain), on August 11th. In addition, a new partnership with a Mexican wrestling company will soon be announced to include more sporting events as part of the TNT Sports catalog in the country.
