The film company Warner Bros is starting to develop its strategy of premiering movies directly on OTT platforms in Latin America, without releasing them in cinemas, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The company had already implemented this strategy in the US and in several countries around the world, and in Latin America it will release the film ‘Scoob!’ on different platforms, this August 6th.
The first company that has implemented this strategy was Universal Pictures (Comcast Corporation), in April in the US, with the movie ‘Trolls World Tour’. Although, due to the pandemic, in Latin America various film companies had already released films on different streaming platforms, ‘Scoob!’ will be the first movie from a Hollywood studio using this strategy in the region.
Up to now, the name of all the platforms that will add the film into its catalog has not been released, although those who confirmed that they will do so are Watch Brazil and Cinema Virtual, both from Brazil. The film may be watched through the PVOD modality, which uses the Pay Per View system.
