Telefónica launched in Brazil (where it operates under the ‘Vivo’ brand) from last July 20th new plans for its FTTH internet customers, with Netflix subscription included. The initiative is similar to the one promoted by the Vivo Selfie package, which includes mobile phone plans with subscriptions to platforms such as Netflix, Rappi or Spotify.
In Brazil, apart from Vivo, this strategy was being implemented only by Tim (Telecom Italia), while in Mexico it is being developed by operators such as Megacable; Izzi (Televisa); Telmex (America Móvil) and Totalplay (Grupo Salinas).
Vivo plans with the included Netflix subscription allow subscribers to build their own package, and they can choose between the ‘Padrao’ and ‘Premium’ plans; the internet connection -100 or 300 mbps- and whether to add a pay TV plan, or not.
‘With this launch, Vivo goes one step further towards its consolidation as a referent in the sale of digital services associated with its connectivity products, bringing in the most relevant partners, with the aim of simplifying our clients digital life’, explained Dante Compagno, Marketing Director at Vivo.
