MediaKind announced it will integrate Netflix’s application to the Mediaroom TV platform, used by Vivo Brasil, to offer OTTs to all its fiber subscribers. The integrated Mediaroom solution allows more than 350 thousand subscribers throughout San Pablo state to access Netflix through the Telefonica Brazil Live IPTV fiber service.
The deployment offers direct access to Netflix through the interactive Vivo fiber portal, with no need to use a dedicated device. The integration makes sure uninterrupted access to Netflix content in all devices for the subscriber.
Clayton Cruz, Latin American Sales Senior Vice President, stressed that ‘today’s consumers expect to receive the content they choose on their own terms, through multiple platforms, at any time, and we can see this through OTT services growing popularity throughout Latin America’.
He also added that ‘these new internet-based services growth means hat modern middleware platforms must evolve to include OTT-style capabilities. By integrating the Netflix application into our TV Mediaroom platform through a simple software update, we are allowing Vivo to answer to this requirement, providing flexible and cost-effective ways to improve its IPTV service and provide access to the best multi screen experience possible for its subscribers’.
