Viacom Brazil announced that Christian Rôças is appointed as new CEO at Porta dos Fundos from December, and will work at the company’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The executive will replace Tereza Gonzalez, who will be completely focused on Viacom International Studios (VIS), and will be responsible for negotiating VIS content sales in Brazil, and the formats production, both in Brazil and the international market.
‘I am proud to be part of this family and to contribute to the continued growth of Porta dos Fundos, in Brazil and internationally’, Rôças said, adding that ‘Porta dos Fundos and its founding partners are already part of Brazilian culture and have a key role as pioneers of the new formats. Where there is a Porta dos Fundos fan interested in accessing our content, we will be there. Whether on TV, internet, mobile devices, podcasts or any type of platform that may be launched’.
As CEO at Porta dos Fundos, Rôças will report to Maurício Kotait, Viacom’s General Manager in Brazil, and will be responsible for strengthening the company as an innovative content projects generator, developed for all types of screens, platforms and habits.
The executive has spent almost 20 years working in the content, marketing and branded content market. He worked on Instagram and Facebook for Latin America for a six years period, being in charge of the relationship with artists and publishers. Apart from that, he led content and branded content projects, such as the Olympic Games, the World Cup, Carnival and Rock in Rio. Before that, he worked as CEO at Gruda, where he led the digital content management of artists like Gilberto Gil, Marisa Monte, Juliana Paes, Nando Reis, Capital Capital, and others, in addition to music festivals such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza and Sónar.
