Univision acquires Eurocopa’s matches TV rights and will broadcast them in Spanish on TUDN and PrendeTV

US TV network Univision officially announced last Monday, May 3rd, that it has acquired the Eurocopa 2020’s TV rights. According to the information reported by the company, the pay TV channel TUDN (Televisa and Univision) will air all the competition’s matches in Spanish, while Prende TV, the company’s recently launched AVOD OTT, will be in charge of broadcasting 40 matches of the tournament. In addition, the Semifinal and the Final of the Eurocupa will be broadcast by both TUDN and Univision.

‘We are thrilled to be able to deliver such a prestigious property to our fans by leveraging the power of Univision’s media portfolio’, reported Juan Carlos Rodriguez, President of Sports, Univision. ‘The Euro is an unmissable competition that captivates the entire football world, and we are proud to be able to make these matches easily accessible to fans in the US’, he added.

TUDN’s broadcasts will feature international football player’s expertise, including Mauro Camoranesi and Javier Zanetti, both born in Argentina. In addition, the TV channel will also highlight the UEFA Euro 2020 competition throughout its programming lineup. TUDN Radio Network will also broadcast 45 matches of the competition.

The Eurocopa, who’s next edition will be played between June 11th and July 11th, adds itself to the acquisition of the rights of the Copa America 2021, which will be broadcast in Spanish, also on TUDN. The competition, which faces South American National Teams, is also scheduled for mid-June.
