Free-to-Air television networks TVN and Mega (Bethia) from Chile are developing and preparing the launch of their own Over-the-Top (OTT) international services in 2016, local newspaper Diario Financiero has reported, according to announcements made by the companies.
According to the journal, Mega would launch its new online content service with an OTT format this year. “We should not lose sight of where we distribute contents. There is a challenge to settle where the people are. Our business is to make audiences”, told Diario Financiero the Business and Channel Development Director, Macarena Cerda.
On its side, the directors of the public television network announced in a letter that they aim on “reaching audiences across multiple platforms, including an international OTT that will allow TVN to enter the subscription business”. The projects would have a content library in Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) format as well as access to their linear signals.
