Turner bets on eSports on CDF again to replace professional football broadcasts in the country

As a way of replacing professional football broadcasts due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Chilean Football Channel (CDF) announced that it will broadcast the second Entel eSports 2020 edition, an eSports competition that will bring together football and entertainment icons from the country through the FIFA 2020 video game. The tournament will be developed from this Friday, May 29th on CDF HD, CDF Premium and Estadio CDF.

Some of the figures who have already confirmed their participation in the tournament are Chilean footballer Jaime Valdes, who currently plays at the La Serena Sports Club, former football players Luis Mena and Diego Rivarola, actor Stefan Kramer and actress Javiera Acevedo. According to what CDF reports, the competition will have 16 official fixture dates, in addition to friendly matches.

‘After the success of the first Entel eSports version, which brought together thousands of fans, who were able to enjoy football through different platforms, with more than 200 thousand views on our social networks and a share of 35 percent, we bet on this new content. A more playful, but no less exciting second version, that will be disputed by referents from the entertainment and sports worlds, together with their families’, said Robert Nicholson, CDF’s Content Manager. In the previous version, the Chilean football team Curico Unido became the competition’s champion.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, CDF has broadcast exclusive content for its subscribers, such as matches for the Chilean National Team in World Cups, Chilean football finals and friendly matches for the men’s and women’s National Teams.
