Televisa has officially announced last September 10th that the sports pay TV channel TUDN (Televisa and Univision) has run a partnership agreement with Facebook to broadcast the Mexican Female Football League (called ‘Guard1anes 2020’) for free through Facebook Watch. As reported by Televisa, for this year it is planned to broadcast 14 matches, one for each fixture date of the competition, starting on date 6.
This way, as of this coming Friday, September 18th, it will be possible to access the broadcast of 11 matches of the regular season of the competition, as well as three matches of the Guard1anes 2020 BBVA MX Tournament League ‘Liguilla’, produced by TUDN and aired through TUDN Mexico official website on Facebook.
‘Facebook is a place where people connect themselves, search and build communities, and sports play a key role in bringing people with common interests together on our platform to watch, share and comment on their favorite content’, said Quentin Paquelier, Sports Partnerships Manager at Facebook. ‘We are excited about this partnership agreement, through which more fans of Female Football and sports in general will have a space available to interact on Facebook’, the executive added.
In addition to Facebook Watch, the competition matches will also be broadcast on TUDN, a pay TV channel officially launched in July 2019. The first match that will be part of the announced agreement will be the one that will face the America and Santos Laguna clubs, this Friday, September 18th, as part of the sixth fixture date of the Guard1anes 2020 tournament.
