Telecommunications company Millicom, whose operations in Latin American countries where it is available are known under the ‘Tigo’ brand, has announced the launch of ONEtv on Android TV (Google) in the markets where it operates in Latin America
With the announcement, from ONEtv’s STB, Tigo’s customers will be able to access linear and VOD content, as well as streaming platforms. In addition, the device allows access to the Google Play Store, and downloading apps directly from the TV screen.
Some of the main features of ONEtv on Android TV focus on access from any device through the ONEtv App; the possibility of making voice commands, recording up to 20 hours of content in the cloud, and others. The ONEtv STB only works with a Wi-Fi network and an HDMI port to connect it to the TV.
As officially reported from Millicom, although initially the company launched the new ONEtv in Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica, the launches in Guatemala (June 22nd); Paraguay (around June 30th); Nicaragua (around July 20th); Bolivia (around July 15th) and Panama (September) are also planned.
Leandro Lagos, Director of the Residential Business Unit (B2C) at Tigo Costa Rica, will star in a one-on-one session during the coming Nextv Series Central America’s virtual edition, where he will present the new Tigo ONEtv in the country.
