The sports OTT DAZN acquired the rights to broadcast the Copa America in Spain, the Latin American National Team’s championship starting today in Brazil. This way, the platform is adding a new international competition to its catalog, for which it made a USD 1,69 million investment. In previous years, the competition was broadcast in Spain with Movistar+.
The Copa America is added to the OTT’s extensive content catalog. Some of the sporting competitions available in Spain are the Premier League, the Moto GP and the Euroleague. Apart from that, the platform could soon add the Champions League and the Spanish League to the country. Its catalog also includes other competitions, such as the US MLS the Japanese J League, the FA Cup and the Italian Cup.
At present, the sports OTT is available in Austria, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, the US, Italy and Spain. In May, it was officially launched in Brazil, the first South American country it arrived. The Copa America is starting today and will finish next July 14th, lasting 26 football matches that DAZN will broadcast in the European country.
