Telmex, the Mexican telco of América Móvil, integrated Star TV’s satellite pay TV platform into its offer, after signing a contract for the promotion and marketing of the service, which is also from Mexico. From now on, the operator’s customers will be able to purchase all DTH packages, some with more than 100 channels.
After this agreement, the company found a solution to its problem with pay TV, since the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, regulator of the Mexican market, still doesn’t authorize its own license to provide the service. Previously, Telmex had already established an alliance with another DTH, Dish, to advance this matter.
Star TV also has HBO Max, Fox Sports and music applications, but they have not been mentioned in the alliance. As announced by the official website of the Mexican operator, the packages will appear as an additional charge to the Telmex service and will have a value from USD 4.9, for the 37 channel pack, which will go up to USD 26.20, for the of 107 signals.
