Claxson, a media company focused on producing and distributing entertainment content for multiple platforms in Latin America and Iberia, announced its decision to extend the Televisa Networks channels distribution agreement in Argentina and Uruguay, originally run in 2019, to the Chilean market.
The agreement became effective last March 1st, and was possible due to a partnership between Televisa Networks and the Yulgok Media production company. With the extension of the agreement, Claxson will represent the complete Televisa channel’s catalog in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, including TLNovelas, Canal de las Estrellas, Telehit, Golden, De Película, Bandamax, Tiin, Telehit Urbano, Golden Edge, Unicable, Distrito Comedia, Univision, Bitme, as well as Golden Premiere and its HD versions.
‘We have an extensive track record and experience as distributors of high-quality content and TV channels, and our alliance with Televisa Networks strengthens our leadership in these markets’, reported Mariano Varela, Founder at Yulgok Media & GM at Claxson Interactive Group. In addition, Fernando Muñiz, General Manager at Televisa Networks, has also expressed himself on the agreement and stated that the company’s commitment with Latin America ‘continues to increase, and this alliance makes us very happy. We are convinced that Claxson is the ideal partner to represent our TV channels and continue growing in the region’.
According to the terms of the partnership, apart from managing Televisa’s channels sales to cable and DTH operators in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, Claxson will also distribute the company’s new digital platforms and manage the marketing strategy with affiliates.
