BlimTV, Mexican Grupo Televisa’s OTT, has announced this Monday, May 31st, the official launch of its AVOD version, which had been originally announced in 2020. According to the information reported by the Mexican company, the ad-supported version will be free and will gather a catalog of 14 thousand hours of content from the platform.
‘This model focuses on giving an answer to the needs of audiences in Latin America, eager to enjoy free of charge the catalog of content in Spanish that blim tv has, which includes full seasons and chapters of a large number of popular productions such as ‘Las Tontas no van al cielo’; ‘Hasta que el dinero nos separe’; ‘Vecinos’; ‘La Rosa de Guadalupe’; ‘Nosotros los guapos’; ‘Una familia de diez’; and others’, they reported from Televisa.
Blim TV’s AVOD version joins the platform’s SVOD version, which allows its subscribers to access more than 35 live TV channels and 37 thousand hours of on demand content, including soap operas, series, movies, sports, programs and documentaries in Spanish, made by content producers such as Televisa, Univision, Telemundo, Atresmedia, Videocine, RTVE, ViacomCBS, Mediapro, Sony, the Argentine production company Polka, RCN, Cinepolis, and other partners.
‘We have spent a lot of time and investment developing the best experience for users, while building the ideal solution from the advertiser’s point of view. Blim TV’s aim is that the AVOD plan becomes the most recognized in the market, and that the SVOD version is a different value initiative from the free version’, reported Luis Arvizu, CEO at Blim TV. Months before the launch of the ad-supported version, Arvizu was interviewed by Nextv News Latin America, and reported that Blim TV’s AVOD version will be available in all Latin American countries, with the exception of Brazil.
