Telefuturo led Paraguayan FTA TV audience share in 2018

According to data from Kantar Ibope Media Paraguay published by, Telefuturo ranked first in networks ranking and led FTA TV audience share in Paraguay in 2018.

The Vierci Group channel achieved a 22.07% share , followed by SNT with 17.24%, Latele with 9.3%, RPC with 4.87%, C9N of the Albavision Group, and Paravision with 3.6%.

Currently, nine national, three local (Coronel Oviedo, Concepción and Encarnación) and one regional (Paraguayan Chaco) channels are operating in Paraguay. In 2019, there will be more TV networks competing for audience: last November, during the event “La TV Que se Viene”, organized by Agustín Genovese, the launching of two new broadcasters that will start with two stations each in Asunción and three departments in the outskirts was confirmed, which will be covered with an antenna in the Cordillera del Ybytyruzú.

Companies that will control these licenses are Mercuria SA and Magnetic DTH, which will launch those channels in 2019. ‘Initially they will be regional, but they can be expanded to be national ones’, said Engineer Alberto Tomio Ishibashi, head of the National Telecommunications Commission Inter Institutional Relations Department (CONATEL).

Paraguay is moving on its national FTA TV networks digitalization. To Telefuturo (Channel 9) and Paraguayan Public Channel, this year the nationals Channel 9 (SNT) and Channel 5 (Paravisión) and the regional Red Chaqueña de Comunicación (RCC) will join the transition.
