Telefonica’s mobile customers in Brazil can now access Starzplay

Brazilian telecommunications company Vivo (Telefonica) has announced last week a partnership with Starzplay, through which Vivo’s mobile customers will be able to hire the Starz (Lionsgate) platform and pay the subscription directly from the  company’s monthly invoice, without the need to use credit cards.

Although the value of the original Starzplay subscription is valued at R$ 14.90 (USD 2.74) per month, during the first six months Vivo’s customers will be able to access the OTT for R$ 9.90 (USD 2), with the first seven days for free. The promotional value is valid throughout May.

Through access to Starzplay, Vivo’s customers will be able to access a catalog that brings together various movies and series on VOD, including ‘The Girlfriend Experience’; ‘Blindspotting’; ‘Normal People’; ‘The Stand’; ‘The Great’;  ‘The Act’, and others. Titles can be accessed on up to four devices at the same time. Some of the enabled devices are iOS and Android smartphones, tablets and Chromecast, and others. Vivo’s customers who wish to access the offer must enter the company’s website and send an SMS with the term ‘STARZPROMO’ to number 2022. The promotion is valid until May 31 and, from June 1, the Vivo customers must pay the full value of the subscription.

With the announcement of the new promotion, Starzplay continues to enhance its partnership strategy with different telecommunications companies in Latin America. The company has run similar agreements in Brazil with Claro (America Movil); with Movistar (Telefonica) in Argentina and Chile; and with Totalplay (Grupo Salinas); Dish (MVS and EchoStar) and Izzi (Televisa) in Mexico. In addition, Starzplay is available as a D2C OTT in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.
