Telefonica renews RTVE distribution channels in Latin America with Hispasat

The Spanish satellite operator Hispasat ran a multi-year agreement with Telefonica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) to renew the RTVE distribution channels in Latin America.

The contents offer that RTVE broadcasts in America through Hispasat satellites includes a range of programs focused on information and entertainment that are broadcast through TVE America SD and HD, 24 Horas HD, Star TVE HD and Clan HD channels , as well as the RNE, RNE-3, RNE-5, Radio Clasica and RNE Radio Exterior radio channels.

This renewal agreement also means an increase related to the capacity hired in the previous agreement, since the new TVE Internacional HD channel has been added to the offer, so a greater bandwidth is required. These channels can be accessed in all countries of the region thanks to the coverage of Hispasat satellites in 30° West. From this location, Hispasat spreads severañ audiovisual content to around 10 thousand TV headers and more than 50 million users in Latin America, which makes it one of the reference orbital positions for the distribution of Ku band content in the region.

‘We are proud to continue providing RTVE with the distribution service of its channels in Latin America, and are delighted to continue having Hispasat as a partner. Its 30° West satellites coverage and performance and the high penetration of this position in Latin American TV headers and operators make it the natural option when successfully distributing content in the region’, said Francisco Panduro, Broadcast Manager at TSA.
