Telefonica Chile presented its Q1 2019 financial results report and informed that its TV segment revenues fell by 8.1% due to a lower impact of DTH operating customers (they had a 13% inter-annual fell), balanced by a 44% growth on IPTV, in line with the fiber optic growth recorded.
According to official information delivered by the company, it recorded 89.991 customers on IPTV and 532.043 on DTH. Its revenues up to March 2019 were USD 57.08 million. This figure, as reported by Movistar Chile, represents an 8.1% decrease compared with the same period of 2018, when it recorded revenues equal to USD 62.07 million. In addition, Telefonica reported that TV accesses recorded during the first three months of the year totalized 622 thousand, a 7.6% negative variation over last year’s same period.
Apart from that, the company informed the Movistar Play Full launch through broadband. Movistar also announced that its customers have Movistar Play Light features available for free in fixed and mobile devices, and indicated that, up to March 2019, Movistar Play recorded 277 thousand customers.
