The pay TV operator Vivo (brand under which Telefonica operates in Brazil) announced that, since this June 29th, it has integrated the Amazon Prime Video app on its Vivo Play platform, being the first Brazilian operator to offer this alternative. This way, Vivo TV subscribers in Brazil can access the Amazon Prime Video catalog from their STBs, or through the app, available for smartphones, smart TVs, tablets and notebooks.
To access the Amazon Prime Video offer, Vivo customers can do so through the main menu of Vivo Play on their STBs, or directly through the operator’s channel 674, or through the ‘Vivo Play’ app . Access to Amazon’s OTT will be available to those Vivo customers who have an active subscription to the platform
The beginning of negotiations between Vivo and Amazon took place in 2018, when the Brazilian company announced an agreement to offer Prime Video to its mobile, broadband and pay TV customers, and offered the possibility of integrating the OTT subscription in its monthly invoice. During the first stage, as a launch offer, Vivo offered access to the Amazon platform for free. Appart from Amazon Prime Video, Vivo also offers access from its platform to Netflix, YouTube and YouTube Kids.
