Telefonica and TikTok partner and plan new projects in Europe and Latin America

Telecommunications company Telefonica, whose operations in Latin America are branded as  ‘Movistar’, has announced this last Wednesday, July 7th, a partnership with the TikTok platform, specialized in short videos. According to the information reported by the company, the alliance includes various initiatives that will be developed in the markets where Telefonica operates in Europe and Latin America, which will be focused on marketing campaigns, distribution of services and technological efficiency, as well as new services and the creation of new revenue streams.

One of the first projects announced by Telefonica and TikTok as a result of this partnership is the integration of the TikTok app, called ‘Living App TikTok Extra’, on the Movistar+ platform, owned by the Spanish company, for the Spanish market. The integration of the app allows Movistar clients to watch TikTok videos from their TVs.

Although up to now, no similar integrations has been announced in markets in which Telefonica operates in Latin America, Telefonica reported that the company and TikTok have already begun to establish different partnerships in various markets. In the case of Brazil, where the company operates under the ‘Vivo’ brand, Telefonica reported that its Brazilian subsidiary is promoting special packages with TikTok for its customers, while launching various challenges on social networks to engage new users.
