ViacomCBS announced this Tuesday, May 11th, that its AVOD OTT Pluto TV is adding the Telefe Noticias channel, one of the most important Spanish-language news channels in Argentina, to its content offering in the US. The channel will be available on ‘Pluto TV en Español’, a new section for the platform’s Hispanic audiences.
The channel will broadcast the four news editions of the Argentine FTA TV channel Telefe on Pluto TV (‘Buen Telefe’; ‘El noticiero de la gente’; ‘Telefe Noticias’ and ‘Staff de Noticias’), through which the platform’s audiences be able to access the coverage of the main events that take place in Argentina and other parts of the world. Newscasts gather the latest news, general information, special investigations, political and economic analysis made by specialized journalists, the daily agenda, entertainment, curiosities, and the review of the most important events of social networks.
Pluto TV added Telefe Noticias as part of its catalog in Latin America in October 2020. It is the first live channel that is available on the platform since it was launched in the region, where it is available on channel 205. Telefe was acquired by ViacomCBS at the end of 2016 for USD 345 million.
