Teatrix officially launches in Mexico

As announced in July, and as confirmed by Alejandro Lacalle, CMO atTeatrix, on a new Dataxis virtual panel, the Argentine SVOD OTT Teatrix, focused on theatre plays to watch on demand, will finally be officially launched in Mexico today in partnership with ‘La Teatreria’, a theater center located in CDMX. Access to the Teatrix catalog will be available for a MX$ 159 (USD 7.5)  monthly subscription.

As reported on specialized websites, the Teatrix catalog features theatre plays produced in Mexico, including various genres, styles, formats and topics. Some of those that will be available will be ‘La invencion del paraiso’, starred by Mexican actors Marina de Tavira, Alfonso Herrera and Regina Blandon; as well as ‘A ocho columnas; ‘Los grandes muertos’; ‘El donador de almas’ ; ‘El hilador’; ‘Cachorro de Leon’, and others.

‘Some of the purposes that we have set for Teatrix Mexico, are to promote the Mexican theater by creating new audiences, some of whom are already used to streaming services, but not to attend a theater. We also plan to give access to theater to those who cannot attend due to economic, geographic or mobility issues; give a second window to theatre plays that are no longer being done; and implement a historical archive of the rich Mexican theatrical heritage to show it to the entire country and the world’, expressed Teatrix and La Teatreria about what will be the launch of the platform in Mexico.
