US production studio Lionsgate and the San Diego Comic-Con, the international convention related to comics and superheroes, will launch its own new Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) platform Comic-Con HQ, they informed in a press release.
The service will be available in beta version on May 7th with a free one-month trial-period before its official release. It is unknown whether the channel will initially be accessible to Latin America. It will have daily and weekly news on comics and entertainment, also original series with and without script and archive footage on the conventions.
“Comic-Con HQ is something no other subscription platform can claim to be at this time – a real community. We want to welcome more people into our community and provide them with a platform to engage with one another, share their passions and enjoy content specifically created and curated just for them”, stated the platform’s EVP and CEO, Seth Laderman.
