US company Harmonic announced that SportsMax, leading sports channel in the Caribbean an a subsidiary of the Digicel Group, is using Harmonic’s VOS 360 live streaming platform for the recently launched SportsMax app.
SportsMax app broadcasts several sports competitions, such as the English Premier League; NBA (US basketball league); tournaments developed in the Caribbean, like the Caribbean Premier League; and other sports like the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

As reported by the specialized website TAVI Latam, Sports Max app is a freemium platform, which offers a basic alternative, in which those who enter will have free access to a live sports event and one VOD content per week. In the premium option, always according to TAVI Latam, those who enter will have access to all content, both live and VOD. In addition, the website reports that Digicel subscribers have discounts to get the premium version (some plans even include it for free), while those who are not Digicel customers must pay USD 9.99 per month to have access.
