Sport TV business in the new normality to open second Nextv Sport Latin America’s virtual edition

Going on with its 2021 virtual events agenda, Dataxis will hold in a few days the second  Nextv Sport Latin America’s virtual edition, which will take place on Tuesday, May 4th and Wednesday, May 5th, both days starting at 9:00 AM (MXT). Registration for all panels of the event is now open, and can be done here.

The discussion panel that will open the conference’s 2021 virtual edition is called ‘The sport TV business in the new normality’, in which topics related to the impact of sports business crisis in TV rights and monetization;the effect of empty stadiums on the audience; new ways of monetization; new agreements between players, teams, federations and TV rights holders; and other related issues will be debated. Industry executives gathered by Dataxis to star in the panel are Jose Platao Rocha, GM DirecTV Sports, VP Development & Production at DirecTV Latin America; Matias Rivera, Founder & CEO of Fanatiz; and Gustavo Minaker, General Manager at WarnerMedia Chile and leader of the TNT Sports team.

Following the success of its first virtual edition in 2020, Nextv Sport Latin America 2021 will bring together the top executives making live sports broadcasting happen in a region that is home to some of the world’s most passionate fans. Recent changes in sports broadcasting consumption trends, which have been accelerated by the Covid pandemic, have forced rights owners, leagues, teams, TV networks and sports streaming services to reassess their short, medium and long-term strategy.
