The OTT Kocowa, launched in 2016 by KBS, MBC and SBS, three of the main South Korean broadcasters, announced this week its arrival at Brazil, where it is available from August 12th. The platform makes 40 K-Dramas titles and TV programs available in the country, and those accessing in Brazil will have subtitles in Portuguese up to 24 hours after the contents broadcast in South Korea.
Those who subscribe to Kocowa may choose between annual, monthly or daily plans. Their values differ, depending on the subscription chosen, but they go from R$ 3.70 to R$ 149.99, which means that up to USD 37 can be paid. The application is available to be downloaded on tablets, smartphones and smart TVs.
Some of the available titles subtitled in Portuguese are Running Man, Home Alone and Weekly Idol, together with Pinocchio, My Love from the Star, My Secret, Terrius and other productions.
Since Q2 2018, Kocowa is marketed on Viki (viki.com), OTT focused on Asian content.
