Sky Brasil switches to DirecTV Go

Sky Brasil decided to eliminate its TV Everywhere Sky Play platform and replace it with the DirecTV Go service, which had been incorporated into the DTH signal subscription plan just two weeks ago. As announced, the application will stop working at the end of 2021 and the operator will move towards a unified streaming model like the one DirecTV has in Latin America, which also works as pay TV through its OTT.

Since its incorporation to Sky, the new service is currently operating in a trial period for subscribers, and will be permanently enabled from October. In this way, all postpaid and prepaid clients of the company will be able to access the platform at no additional cost, where they will have the linear channels corresponding to the contracted plan.

Raphael Denadai, President of Sky Brasil, stated: “The focus of this agreement is to broaden the content experience“. “Among the main benefits is the increase in the number of live channels on digital platforms, rising from 53 to more than 70, including 26 stations affiliated with Globo, and the possibility of accessing content from a greater number of devices“, they added from the company.
