The Colombian FTA TV channel RCN announced last week that its international distribution arm agreed to sell its ‘El Capo’ series, starred by Colombian actor Marlon Moreno, to Estrella TV, a US Hispanic channel, where it will be released today.
RCN originally released ‘El Capo’ in 2009, produced by Fox Telecolombia. Its plot focuses on the story of Pedro Pablo Leon Jaramillo, ‘El Capo’, who, after remaining anonymous for 25 years, was discovered by the journalist Eliecer Manchola, who made him known to the world as the greatest drug trafficker of all time, the one that exported the most drugs and the one that accumulated the greatest wealth.
Since its premiere, ‘El Capo’, which brings together 223 one-hour episodes over three seasons, has been translated into 12 languages and has been broadcast in more than 75 countries, including Ecuador, the US, Guatemala, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama.
