PrendeTV launches first exclusive premiere for streaming

PrendeTV, the platform that now depends on the merger of the Televisa – Univisión brands, will launch the first exclusive film premiere for streaming subscribers. On November 25, Thanksgiving Day in North America, the animated film Koatí, which was originally produced for Spanish-speaking children’s audiences in the United States, will arrive on the app.

“Koatí’s streaming premiere reaffirms our commitment to offering premium Spanish-language content for the entire family to our diverse audience”, Rafael Urbina, General Manager and Executive VP of AVOD Streaming at Univisión,  explained “We are excited to present our first streaming movie premiere and will continue to expand our content to give Hispanic audiences access to the most popular programming in their language in the US and, soon, around the world“, he added.

Last October, Luis Arvizu, CEO of Blim TV, had anticipated the premiere of the children’s film on the platform, as a test to analyze the paywall model for the future application in which PrendeTV, blim TV and VIX will be merged, offering content exclusively for digital format at an additional price. “We want to see how the audience behaves between now and the end of the year, and thus see the model with which we are going to work when we have a single platform“, Arvizu had said during his participation in the Nextv Series Mexico 2021 event.
