ESPN announced today that it will broadcast the return of the Portuguese Football League (Primeira Liga). The competition, which will resume today after it was canceled in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic, will be watched in Latin America on ESPN 2 and ESPN Play. At the same time, ESPN and Fox Sports are broadcasting the return of the Bundesliga, the first to resume after it was also cancelled.
With nine fixture dates to go until the end of the current Primeira Liga season, ESPN reported that it will broadcast the top three football matches of the League’s 25th date live. First of all, the match between FC Famalicão and Futebol Clube do Porto will take place, which will be developed today. The remaining two will be broadcast tomorrow: Sports Lisboa e Benfica will play first against CD Tondela, and then, Vitoria Sport Clube will face Sporting de Lisboa.
The already mentioned football matches will be broadcast in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. In addition, Costa Rica was the first country in Latin America which resumed its Football League, also cancelled due to the advance of the Coronavirus. The competition’s matches are broadcast on Tigo Sports and FUTV.
