ViacomCBS officially reported yesterday that the Pluto TV app, its AVOD OTT launched this year in Latin America, is now available on Hisense-brand TVs with VIDAA operating system in Mexico, as part of a previously announced international agreement. This way, through a direct access button located on the remote control, it will be possible to access the content catalog available on the platform.
As ViacomCBS officially reported, the Hisense model 9.602 TVs marketed in Mexico, which include the most up-to-date version of the VIDAA U4 operating system, are the ones that are offering the possibility of accessing the Pluto TV portfolio. In addition, in March, Hisense and Pluto TV ran a partnership agreement to offer the AVOD OTT catalog on Hisense TVs marketed in the US and other countries around the world, with the Vidaa operating system.
‘We are really excited about the growth Pluto TV is having in the region, and especially in Mexico. Increasing the availability of Pluto on TVs is something of the utmost priority, and the arrival of Hisense TVs with Pluto TV is taking place at an ideal time, where we aim to continue growing in users and usability of the platform’ ,said Marco Nobili, SVP of Strategy and Emerging Business at ViacomCBS Networks Americas.
In Latin America, as officially reported by ViacomCBS, Pluto TV currently records 54 channels, which include curated content from more than 100 partners. Likewise, the company reported that the platform already has more than 33 million users globally and 6.5 million in Latin America and Europe. In addition, Pluto TV will be also available in Brazil in December this year.
