“The free linear OTT Pluto TV, recently acquired by Viacom, currently records 15 million monthly active users. According to the company, Pluto TV ended 2018 with more than 12 million monthly active subscribers, of which 7.5 million were in connected TVs. Recently, the company announced the launch of Pluto TV in Spanish for Latin America.
‘Pluto TV audience is young, gender-balanced and hard to reach. In fact, 50% of Pluto TV viewers are between the ages of 18 and 34 years old. Importantly, Pluto TV – with its nascent ad sales force – currently sells less than 50% of this inventory’, said Viacom’s CEO, Bob Bakish.
Apart from its Latin American expansion, PlutoTV established a new partnership with BBC studios to include some of its contents starting next month, with which it would add 700 hours more to its programming.
Federico Llano, Viacom’s Latam&Brazil Emerging Business Director, will take part in the ‘OTT Pay TV: Skinny bundles and add-on channels’ panel of the Nextv Series Argentina event, organized by Dataxis, which will take place on May 14th and 15th at the Intercontinental Hotel, in Buenos Aires.
