Paramount Channel changes name to Paramount Network and launches new original series produced in Mexico

ViacomCBS Networks Americas announced that Paramount Channel, watched in more than 30 million homes in Latin America according to what the company reported, has changed its name to Paramount Network. The channel will also premiere ‘R’, its new original series produced in Mexico, on April 27th, in co-production with Clarovideo and Pantaya.

According to ViacomCBS Networks Americas, Paramount Network is ‘a fresh and modern entertainment brand, that offers young and adult audiences premium content, including original productions, award-winning and acclaimed-by-critics series, and films featuring Hollywood’s biggest celebrities. Apart from ‘R’, the channel’s catalog also includes other series, like Dani Who?; new seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale; Killing Eve; Yellowstone; Line of Duty, and others.

‘R’, which will feature 10 one-hour episodes, is a black humor and action series co-produced with Clarovideo and Pantaya. In it, Francisco ‘Franco’ Barron, played by actor Mauricio Ochmann, is a man with a not so good life, whose reality is altered due to a death diagnosis, which he is assigned by mistake. This way, a number of follies, difficult situations and excesses take place, which lead him to kill to defend himself. When Barron finds out that he is in good health conditions, his life becomes more complicated: he is a fugitive, with traffickers looking for him, the police want to arrest him and his family curses him.
