Palmeiras joins the OTT market and launches ‘TV Palmeiras Plus’

Brazilian football club Palmeiras,  last Copa Libertadores champion,  has launched its own OTT this last Wednesday, April 7th, which it called TV Palmeiras Plus’ (TVP+). The company in charge of the platform’s  technical development is Foursys.

As officially reported from Palmeiras, the platform is now available, and its catalog brings together content related to the sports club, including special interviews, documentaries, tributes to club idols, coverage of training sessions for the male and female teams, and other related issues.

The first event that was broadcast live on the platform took place this past Wednesday, before the match that faced Palmeiras with the Argentine team Defensa y Justicia in the Recopa Sudamericana’s Final, in which Palmeiras won. Both teams will face themselves again in Brasilia, next Wednesday, April 14th.

‘TVP+ will bring Palmeiras fans even closer to our club, with live content and lots of interaction with fans. With TVP+ we want those who enter the platform to feel inside Palmeiras, with access to exclusive content, curiosities and stories that are not normally available on other platforms’, reported Roberto Trinas, Executive Marketing Director at Palmeiras.

With this launch, Palmeiras joins the list of football clubs in Latin America that have also recently launched their streaming platforms. Some of them are  Mexican club Club Deportivo Guadalajara (better known as ‘Las Chivas’ – Chivas TV); Argentine clubs Estudiantes de La Plata (Estudiantes Play); and Racing Club (Racing Play);  Uruguayan Nacional (Nacional TV); Peruvian Universitario de Peru (Universitario Play); and the Chilean Universidad de Chile (La U Play).
