Discovery finally confirmed the launch of its OTT Discovery + in Brazil for November 9th, after having postponed the premiere that was originally scheduled for September. To the agreement that had already been announced with Globoplay, a contract with Claro was now incorporated to include the platform in its Claro box tv service, in addition to offering promotional discounts for all the operator’s clients.
As announced at the launch event, in addition to the international content of the brand, which varies between reality shows, informational and children’s programs, such as those of the Discovery Kids signal; there will also be an offer of local production for the region, with titles such as: Largados e pealdos Brasil, Mestres Da Sabotagem – Edicão Especial and Ba da bean, among others. On the other hand, Discovery also confirmed that there are currently another 40 local content in development to release within the next two years.
Regarding the values, the platform confirmed that the established price will be USD 3.9 per month, while the annual plan will reduce the monthly cost to USD 3.4. However, for the first 30 days after launch, a 25% discount will be offered to all new subscribers, who will also have a seven-day free trial enabled.
