The Brazilian company Oi presented new features in its Oi Play VOD platform, available for iOS and Android devices. The application now has the ‘Pra Trocar’ update, which allows subscribers to choose which OTT content they want to add to their plan. The system works through virtual currencies called ‘plays’, and lasts for 30 days.

‘We understand that customers have a need for content customization. We have brought Oi Play subscribers (broadband and postpaid plans) the possibility of personalizing their plans, changing plays (currencies) by content. Each content has a value expressed in plays’,explained Roberto Guenzburguer, Retail Marketing Director at Oi.

The platform also developed a series of updates, as part of a USD 1802.8 million investment plan for 2019. Oi Subscribers will be able to access exclusive contents from associated OTTs (Discovery, ESPN, Fox, Globosat, HBO, Telecine, Turner, Viacom e Vubiquity), through an only login password, rent contents and enter the Coleção Oi service, where various series marathons (binge watching) will be available, among others. In addition, Guenzburguer confirmed that Oi Play will have more updates during the second half of the year. The most outstanding will be the possibility to watching offline videos, access to the platform from Smart TVs and game consoles,Cloud DVR and return to watch linear proggramming’s TV programs. One of the main announcements is related to the possibility  of payment through credit card, even for those who are not Oi customers.
