Netflix has officially announced this last Monday, June 28th the launch of a new feature to improve its subscriber’s titles download experience globally. The OTT allowed the download of series and films on mobile devices to be watched later, although, with the announced improvement, Netflix subscribers can now access the contents they prefer while the download continues, without the need to wait for this to be completed.
This way, the new Netflix feature makes it possible for its customers to access the titles they want, avoiding problems related to falls in the wifi network or mobile data consumption. The news is added to another similar feature launched by Netflix globally last February, called ‘Downloads For You’, through which the platform chooses the titles that may become of interest for subscribers, so that they can download and access them.
In a first step, the possibility of accessing Netflix contents before the end of the download is available on cell phones and tablets with Android operating system, but from the company they confirmed that they will start testing the feature on iOS devices in the coming months.
The figures reported by Netflix during its Q1 2021 results report showed that the company had 37.894 million subscribers in Latin America, adding only 357 thousand subscribers in the region during the first three months of the year, and more than 3.5 million customers on an annual basis.
