Entertainment company NBCUniversal announced the rebranding of its international production brand, NBCUniversal International Studios, to be “aligned” with the rest of its studios. From now on, the division will be called Universal International Studios, and will continue to include production companies Carnival Films, Monkey Kingdom, Working Title Television and Lark Productions.
After the transformation, the titles of the studios will now coexist in the same group as Universal Studio Group, UCP, Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio. However, the company clarified that the NBCUniversal International Global Distribution brand will retain its name.
On the elimination of NBC in the studios’ name, Pearlena Igbokwe, president of Universal Studio Group, explained: “We want the market to know that we are Universal“. “Our international studio will now be more aligned than ever and positioned to exploit the global potential of our four studio divisions“, he added.
