MX League confirms Torneo Apertura 2021’s TV broadcasting rights and Chivas will feature three local matches on FTA TV

The Mexican Football League (MX League) announced this last Wednesday, June 30th, the fixture of the Torneo Apertura 2021, which will be played between July and November by the country’s 18 professional football teams, which will make their debut as of July 22nd.

During the league, all the matches played by Club Deportivo Guadalajara, known as ‘Las Chivas’ as a local team, will be broadcast on Izzi’s screen (pay TV), with the exception of fixture dates 12, 13 and 15. On  fixture date 12 Chivas will face Atlas Futbol Club as a local team; on fixture date 13 it will play against Toluca as local, and on fixture date 15 it will face Cruz Azul, also as the local team. The broadcast of the three matches will be available both on pay TV (TUDN – Televisa) and on FTA TV (TV Azteca), and they will be the only three matches in the competition that will be available on FTA TV.

In Mexico, TV rights of official competitions are negotiated between the club that plays as a local team with each channel or TV network. According to the information reported on the MX League official website, the broadcasts of the matches on FTA TV and pay TV will be in charge of Imagen TV, TV Azteca, TUDN (Televisa), ESPN, Fox Sports, Claro Sports and Izzi (through the ‘Afizzizados’ channel).
