Movistar presented ‘El dia de mi suerte’ in Peru, its second original series produced in Latin America, which is prevented to be released in November through Movistar Series and Movistar Play. This is a four-episode comedy inspired on Puerto Rican singer Hector Lavoe’s visit to Lima in 1986.
‘We are strongly committed with our original and local production, with the aim of providing our customers the best exclusive content. There are already two Peruvian productions that will soon captivate thousands of clients not only for Peru, but for Latin America, all that exclusively in our Movistar Play video platform’, said Luis Villalobos, Brand and Content Director at Movistar Peru. The company is also working on ‘Un dia eres joven’, its first original production in the country.
According to what the company officially reported, El dia de mi suerte aims to tell Toño’s story, an Hector Lavoe’s imitator, who had several problems in his life and is constantly looking for ways to change his luck. Lavoe’s arrival at Lima in 1986 will be that surprising event that Toño expected. Convinced that the arrival of Lavoe is connected with his own destiny, he will do all what is possible to meet him and find with him ‘his lucky day’.
The series, which is being post produced at present, was recorded during June and July at Callao. Its premiere is scheduled for November through Movistar Play, to be later broadcast on Movistar Series (channels 1 SD and 701 HD). Movistar also plans to produce series in Peru, Colombia and Argentina in 2019.
