In its first quarter 2019 results report, Telefonica Peru recorded a USD 1.78 million operating profits, which means a USD 6 million growth compared to 2018 same period. Apart from that, the company’s sales went up to USD 592 million during the first quarter of the year, 1.9% less than the previous year’s same period. Movistar Total, which brings together TV, mobile and fixed telephony and internet services, recorded 48.8 thousand sales in the country.
Movistar Peru also began to show net gains in mobile segment accesses and growth in fixed broadband services (12,4%) and pay TV (10,9%), compared to 2018’s first quarter. In that period, the total pay TV subscribers was 1,329, 400 million.

According to information from Peruvian Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Ospitel), Movistar recorded about 20 million customers in the fourth quarter of 2018, and was the leader with a 37.2% market share in mobile telephony, 75% in broadband and 64.4% in pay TV.
