The Argentine telecommunications company Movistar (Telefpnica) officially announced on Monday, November 30th, the integration of the Starzplay platform (Lionsgate) -recently launched in Argentina and Chile as a D2C product – as part of the content offering available on its OTT Movistar Play and in the Movistar TV STBs. Those Movistar customers who wish to access the catalog will be able to enjoy a free 30-day trial period.
Movistar clients in Argentina will be able to access the Starzplay catalog from various devices, including smart TVs, cell phones, PCS, notebooks, tablets and Chromecast, through the company’s fixed and mobile connectivity, or with any broadband. Once the trial period has ended, customers must pay an AR$ 189 (USD 2) monthly subscription to access the catalog.
With the integration, according to the information reported from Movistar Argentina, Movistar Play customers will have access to Starzplay’s movies and series portfolio, which includes original Starz series on the same day they are released in the US, like ‘The Spanish Princess’ and ‘Power Book II: Ghost’; and series nominated for the 2020 Emmy Awards, such as ‘Normal People’; ‘The Great’ and ‘The Act’.
To access Movistar Play, Movistar customers must download the app, available for iOS and Android devices, or enter from its web version and activate their account. Some of the features available on the OTT, launched in Argentina in March 2019, include the start of programming from the beginning, regardless of the original broadcast time; pause live content; access to content up to 24 hours after its broadcast; HD quality image; the possibility of sharing the account with up to two accesses at the same time, and others.
