Brazilian Internet provider Mob Telecom announced the acquisition of SergipeWeb, the second largest telecommunications company in the state of Sergipe. After this incorporation, the company added a base of more than 50 thousand users distributed in 18 locations in the northeast of the country.
During the first half of 2021, Mob Telecom registered 200 thousand customers, which represented a growth of more than 100% compared to the same period of the previous year, when it had just reached 90 thousand subscribers. Also by 2020, the company had extended its FTTH network to more than 3 million kilometers, between the service network and the backbone, when it was under the direction of the ISW group. Later, after being acquired by EB Capital, it became consolidated as the Northeast HUB of EB Fibra with a backbone network of more than 57 thousand kilometers.
After having expanded into states such as Maranhão, Pernambuco, Piauí, Ceará and now Sergipe; Salim Bayde, CEO of Mob Telecom, explained that the company’s inorganic growth should continue through the purchase of more ISPs in the north and northeast of Brazil.
