MercadoLibre strengthens its OTT and D2C sales strategy with Paramount+ in Mexico

The e-commerce platform MercadoLibre and Paramount+, ViacomCBS’s SVOD OTT, relaunched in Latin America last March 4th, announced on May 13th a new partnership, through which MercadoLibre and MercadoPago users will be able to have discounts of up to 40% on the OTT subscription.

As a result of the agreement, it will be possible to access Paramount + content for free  for the first seven days. According to the terms of the alliance, once the free period is over, the discounts will be between 10% and 40%, according to the level of each user in MercadoPuntos, MercadoLibre’s loyalty program, which allows its customers to add points and obtain benefits that improve each user’s experience. According to the information reported by ViacomCBS, some of the methods available for subscribing to Paramount+ include payment by credit or debit card, bank receipt and cash, for customers with accounts in Mercado Pago.

With the new alliance, MercadoLibre strengthens its OTT and D2C sales strategy. MercadoLibre is already adding Disney+ in Brazil, Chile Mexico; the Deezer music streaming service in Brazil; HBO GO in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico; and now Paramount+ in Mexico and Brazil.
