Mexican pay TV operator Megacable announced that, starting this month, it is adding the Netflix subscription to its packages. As the Mexican company officially reported, subscribers will have the option of integrating their Netflix payment to a single invoice, or subscribing the OTT through one of the new packages with Netflix included. Subscribers will also receive additional megabytes.
‘This is how Megacable strengthens its content offer under the premise ‘More megabytes, more Netflix’, by adding the Netflix catalog to the 10 thousand hours of series and movies that we already offer through our Xview platform, which has live TV on 92 fully interactive channels, which can be enjoyed from any mobile device with the Xview Movil application and on a TV’, said Raymundo Fernandez Pendones, Co-CEO of the company. In the company’s latest quarterly results report, more than 870 thousand Xview subscribers were recorded.
Megacable subscribers who already have access to Xview and choose a package with a Netflix subscription will receive an increase in the speed of their internet for six months, while those who do not have the platform available, but wish to access any of the new packages, will have three months with greater speed.
Megacable packages with a Netflix subscription are available on the operator’s website, by calling the National Call Center, at any branch office or through any Megacable sales promoter. All packages include Netflix Standard (with 2 devices in HD quality) and, if subscribers choose the Netflix Premium service, which gives them access to four simultaneous screens and Ultra HD content, they can add it for MX $ 50 per month (USD 2 ), paying for the package of their choice.
Packages with Netflix included are called ‘Mega 20’; ‘Xview 50’; ‘Xview 100’ and ‘Xview 200’, and the value of their monthly subscription ranges from MX$ 699 (USD 29) to MX$ 1,199 (USD 50).
