ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), The Mediapro Studio, Telecom and Olympusat announced the premiere of the series ‘Los Internacionales’ on FTA through Telefe and on demand on Flow. Starred by Argentine actress Cecilia Roth and Colombian actor Juan Pablo Shuk, ‘Los Internacionales’ is the first fiction series set during the Argentine political and economic crisis that took place in 2001.
Based on Nahuel Gallota’s journalistic novel, ‘The Bogota Connection’, ‘Los Internacionales’ is focused on the story of a band of Colombian thieves who decide to travel to Argentina to commit robberies and dismantle the assets of a society going up in flames. In 2001, many Argentines were forced to remove their savings and belongings from banks due to the deep political and economic crisis. ‘Los Internacionales’ crew took advantage of the chaos to rob people in their apartments and houses, stealing excessive amounts of money and jewelry. The 10-episodes series was written by Martin Mendez, Bruno Luciani and Luciana Porchietto, and supported by the Argentine National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA).
The series began shooting in early September 2019 in Bogotá, Colombia and then onto Buenos Aires, Argentina. The production involved a team of more than 200 on-set professionals for 65 days, with more than 300 scenes recorded in over 40 different outdoor locations, as reported by ViacomCBS. Apart from Cecilia Roth, as prosecutor Marta Costas, and Juan Pablo Shuk, as Fausto, the leader of the ‘Los Internacionales’ band, the cast includes other actors like Rafael Ferro, Boy Olmi, Gustavo Garzon, and others.
