The Mexican Telecommunications Federal Institute (IFT) renewed the Totalplay concession for an additional 30 years period, effective from next October 17th, 2025. The extension will allow the Salinas Group company to continue providing triple play services for the Mexican residential market.
As reported by Forbes Mexico, the Salinas Group company reported that the concession renewal ‘will allow Totalplay to continue providing a wide range of telecommunications services, under the protection of a single concession title, with national coverage, for commercial use, in any modality that is technically possible’.
Forbes Mexico also reported that, at the end of Q4 2019, Totalplay concentrated 7.71% of fixed internet accesses in the country, a market in which it was ranked as the fourth supplier nationwide. In addition, the already mentioned source also reported that Totalplay remained the fourth pay TV services supplier in the country, with 4.91% of the total subscribers.
