After GolTV has confirmed that it will continue paying the broadcasting rights for the Liga Pro -name under which the Ecuadorian Professional Football League is known-, Miguel Angel Loor, President at the Ecuadorian League, confirmed on November 18th through his official Twitter account that GolTV has finally made a new payment to the country’s football clubs.
As reported by GolTV, the Ecuadorian manager highlighted that, with the arrival of GolTV in 2018, the income for clubs in the country increased. And he reported that 73% of the payments offered for this 2020 have been met and will continue to be met.
‘Before the arrival of GolTV, Ecuadorian football TV rights were around 17 million. Since this company arrived in 2018, revenues exceeded 25 million, in 2019 they were around 30 million, and now, in 2020, they should exceed that figure’, said the executive. Loor also stated that TV rights income for Ecuadorian clubs ‘together represent about 70% of their annual budget’.
